MILWAUKEE (May 20, 2026) – Cousins Subs® announces the promotion of Maja Gettrust to vice president of marketing.
Gettrust joined Cousins Subs in 2023 as creative manager and quickly elevated the brand’s creative direction, leading a refresh of core assets and helped sharpen the company’s visual identity shortly after her arrival. With more than a decade of experience in retail and foodservice marketing, she modernized creative execution and strengthened the brand’s overall marketing presence.
Since joining the company, Gettrust advanced through several leadership roles, including her promotion to creative director in December 2024 and her appointment to the Cousins Subs Leadership Team in an interim capacity in July 2025. In each role, she helped define brand direction, raise creative standards and strengthen the consistency of marketing execution across channels.
In her role as vice president of marketing, Gettrust leads the company’s marketing initiatives, overseeing brand strategy, creative development, media, loyalty marketing, digital platforms and vendor partnerships, including the company’s website and mobile app.

Prior to joining Cousins Subs, Gettrust spent more than 10 years with Breadsmith Franchising in progressive creative and marketing roles focused on brand strategy, creative leadership and marketing execution.
Gettrust holds a Bachelor of Arts in design and fine arts from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay.
