APPLETON, Wis. (Nov. 18, 2016) \u2013 For the fourth consecutive year, Cousins Subs \u00ae located at 706 W. Northland Ave. in Appleton, Wis. will host a Stuff the Stocking fundraiser from Nov. 25 to Dec. 24 to benefit the Fox Valley Warming Shelter (FVWS).<\/p>\n
Individuals interested in supporting FVWS can stop into the restaurant to purchase a paper ornament for $1.00 \u2013 one-hundred percent of all proceeds will directly support the shelter, which provides life\u2019s basic needs \u2013 shelter, food, clothing and safety \u2013 to all homeless men and women in its facility.<\/p>\n
Through previous Stuff the Stocking fundraisers, the restaurant has donated a total of approximately $1,500, as well as an assortment of needed supplies to the shelter.<\/p>\n
“While homelessness effects our community all year, the holiday season is especially hard for people staying at the Fox Valley Warming Shelter,\u201d said Scott Peeples, director of Fox Valley Warming Shelter. \u201cThe support we get from Cousins Subs Stuff the Stocking fundraiser not only helps us fulfill our mission. It also shows our clients that the community supports them, as individuals, during this season of hope.”<\/p>\n
The Northland Avenue Cousins Subs will also host a donation night on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 4 \u2013 8 p.m. with 10 percent of all sales supporting FVWS. In addition, those who donate items off the shelter\u2019s wish list will receive a FREE 7\u00bd-inch sub certificate redeemable during their next visit.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a strong community advocate, I feel it is imperative to help those in need throughout the Fox Valley Community,\u201d said Kim Seidler, owner of the Northland Avenue Cousins Subs. \u201cBy supporting the Fox Valley Warming Shelter \u2013 a facility that provides men and women with a warm place to stay and life\u2019s basic needs \u2013 we can make a local contribution, especially during the winter months when the homeless are in critical need.<\/p>\n
The Cousins Subs on Northland Avenue first opened in May 1993 and transitioned ownership to Kim Seidler in January 2003. Under Seidler\u2019s ownership, she continues to support FVWS through monthly donations of Cousins Subs Better Bread and signature chips.<\/p>\n
